And the Journey Starts

Having two doctor's appointments in one week can be a pain.  Especially if you don't know what your expecting to hear from each of them, and it makes you so nervous you have anxiety attacks. Monday  was the day I had been dreading..meeting the OB/GYN for the first time.  But the man I chose to deliver our future baby was very comforting and had a great sense of humor.  After some testing, we found out that I am pretty healthy, and still young to conceive a child. Great. But after 4 months why have not been able to? Well, after forgetting some things in my health history,  turns out it's my thyroid.  Having hypothyroidism can really put a damper on the baby making process, and if I were to get pregnant and my thyroid still be out of whack, it can cause major problems for the baby.  That is where doctor #2 came in. After the ob was very adamant I go see my doctor for thyroid medication, I went. Luckily, I had made an appointment 2 weeks early to see my new doctor.  Again, meeting a doctor for the first time can be stressful. But she was awesome.

After some blood tests to make sure I was healthy, we found a few problems.  My thyroid level was pretty high, so I was put on meds.  Next, my Vitamin D level was pretty low, so I was given medicine for that--I have to admit, taking that first pill really made me feel 100% better. I had more energy, and it has been a long time since I felt so good.  And finally, last week was very stressful. They found my WBC to be high as well as my liver enzymes were elevated, so more testing had to be done to find out why.  I didn't know what was wrong, but I am one of those types that just constantly dwell on what it could be, and its usually the worst..blah blah omg I am dying omg...yeah. That's me.  Turns out it was just a random virus that will run it's course and I will be fine.  I can tell already I am getting better.

So, that is all out of the way.  With my back on my thyroid medicine, some Vitamin D supplements and some prenatal vitamins, apparently there should be no issue getting pregnant.  Um yeah, I never thought it would be this hard. NEVER. ugh.

So patiently waiting.  Trying very hard not to take HPT on a daily basis.  I am already late, but still a negative. Doctor says to wait a week and try again.  Due to my thyroid issue, things may go a little slower than others.  So cross your fingers and wish us luck!
